Retainers
At the end of treatment, you’ll receive retainers to keep your teeth in their new positions. Depending on your needs, this may be a fixed (permanent) retainer, a clear Essix retainer, a traditional Hawley retainer, or some combination of these.
Retainers must be worn as directed—usually for life in some capacity—to prevent teeth from shifting.
Retainers are easy to care for: clean them regularly, avoid heat, and let us know if they’re lost or damaged so we can replace them. We’ll also check your retainers at follow-up visits to ensure they continue to fit well and protect your smile.
